Jim Larkin and Micheal Lacey have become two of the most impressive defenders of the rights of immigrants at the U.S. Mexican border in the wake of the ongoing politically based crackdown of illegal immigrants by ICE officers through the Frontera Fund they established in the state of Arizona.
The Frontera Fund has become important as a financial support to many different groups, such as the No More Deaths foundation that was developed as a ministry through the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tuscon; the group is based on a multi faith approach to the issue of immigration reform and the large number of deaths seen in the Arizona desert of migrants attempting to enter the U.S. Read more: About Lacey and Larkin- Frontera Fund
The Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund has become a major part of the lives of undocumented and documented immigrants across the state of Arizona and beyond through both the financial donations made to migrant groups and the growing number of causes the charitable organization is backing.
Dreamers, undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children and were not responsible for their illegal stay in the United States are the subject of much of the work of the Frontera Fund; the group is looking for new ways of helping more dreamers make their way to public universities in Arizona.
Members of the Frontera Fund have been looking to raise awareness of the fact so-called dreamers have the right to register for public educational institutions in Arizona and not see reprisals by immigration officials.
The Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund is the brainchild of the journalists and technology innovators Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey who were awarded a financial settlement after being illegally detained y an Arizona sheriff being investigated by the reporters. After their imprisonment by Sheriff Joe Arpaio was discovered after a Grand Jury investigation was revealed in their reporting the two journalists were awarded more than $3 million in compensation, which they used to create the Frontera Fund.
In 2017, the Frontera Fund has been fighting to protect the rights of immigrants and U.S. citizens the fund believes are being stripped of their rights under the new legislation introduced by President Donald Trump and his Republican Administration. The Constitution is Under Attack!
There is nothing but you and I to guarantee that America will remain the home of the free where we have the right to pursue liberty, happiness, and justice. This is why the American Constitution created a second amendment for the citizens. Should a government ever overstep its bounds and become a tyrannical regime is both the right and the duty of the American citizen to put their power back in its proper place. It seems that many have forgotten this.
Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are doing everything in their power to remind American citizens that their rights are under attack. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are political activists who are in favor of immigration rights. They want Hispanics and Latinos to share in the American dream all of us enjoy on a daily basis. In order to make the United States of America citizen aware of what is going on Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin have several publications through the Village Voice Media. They have a 9 million person readership.
With these two magazines, Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin have vocally spoke out against Sheriff Joseph Arpaio. They detailed how he has covered up murders of Hispanic men, been responsible for Hispanic beatings, and encourages the police officers serving the Maricopa County to racially profile Hispanics by giving them monetary rewards.
Sheriff Joseph Arpaio would go on to violate the First Amendment rights of these two men. He would enter their homes in a way that would make Nazi Germany blush. They even illegally confiscated every single piece of paper and digital file Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin had pertaining to Sheriff Joseph Arpaio. As a result, Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin would use the settlement money from the lawsuit to start the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund.
