Long gone are the days when some people would treat others with contempt through slavery and other types of discrimination. This is the reason human rights groups do exist up to date. The role of the human rights groups is mostly to address issues of civil rights, migrants’ rights, and human rights.

The coalition for Humane Immigrants’ Rights
Commonly known as CHIRLA, it is a group that fights for the rights of immigrants in the state of California. They ensure that immigrants’ families are accorded the rights they deserve and are not discriminated upon.
They ensure that the rights of all apply even to the immigrants. They also aim to change the opinion of the public while at the same time advocating for better human rights policies. The law stated that it is illegal to employ workers who were undocumented. This however created a loophole for people to misuse the rights of immigrants who may be undocumented.
ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project
This is another group that is committed to fighting for the rights of people. They address issues of human rights and civil rights affecting the immigrants. To effect its responsibilities, ACLU does that through legislation and advocacy. The group is the largest in the United States in the category of legislation.
This group ensures that no immigrant is discriminated for whatever reason. They insist that the constitution is the supreme law and should be applied to all people regardless of one being an immigrant or not.
Lacey & Larkin Frontera Fund
Lacey & Larkin Frontera Fund is an organization founded by Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin. They the same people who founded the Phoenix New Times.
Through this fund, they finance organizations that are dedicated to fighting for human rights, civil rights and migrants’ rights in today’s society. Their operations are based in the state of Arizona.
Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin were once victims of human rights discrimination. After their case, they were compensated by the courts after an arrest by a Sheriff. They decided to use some of the money to fund human rights groups that fight against such discriminatory arrests.
